REFLECTION QUESTIONIndustryWhat are some more "R's" you could add to your daily practice to reduce your waste?
Michael Arturo 4/14/2022 6:28 PMSome R's that could be added to my daily practice in reducing waste is repurposing, Repurposing is something that I occasionally do but I don't do it to its full extent. There is so many possibilities that could come from repurposing. Whether it be clothes or materials, I could both save money and help the environment by repurposing. I have always had interest in how people up cycle clothing and reuse materials from hand me downs. One way I can try to repurpose everyday is by taking items that I'm using such as cardboard and giving it to my housemate who's an art major, he often does projects and could use the materials to paint on or use as a pallet. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Healing & RenewalWhat have you noticed on your daily walks? What have you enjoyed? What infrastructure changes could make your walks more enjoyable or possible?
Michael Arturo 4/14/2022 5:37 PMTheres a lot to learn when taking my walks around the town of New Paltz. There are so many interactions happening around me, so many different types of people. It's interesting to see that everyone has their own thing going on. My walks have varied from the streets of New Paltz, to the shops and nature. It is hard to say which is my favorite because I do enjoy feeling the liveliness of my college town but enjoying the fresh nature around me has to be the greatest part of my walks. Observing the changes in trees and flowers as they bloom is beautiful and makes me excited about spring and summer. It feels very therapeutic to take my walks, I sometimes will pick an album or a podcast to listen to while walking. It can be nice to clear my head when I'm stressed about school or work, it gives me a feeling of presence, where all that matters is whats happening in the moment.
Some infrastructure changes that could make my walks more enjoyable are taking my walks specifically around sunset near the lake. This scenery would allow me to see different colors in the sky and experience the slow change in natural light. In terms of infrastructure of my town that would make my walks more enjoyable or possible, one change would be fixing the sidewalks near my house that are broken and essentially just dirt patches because when it rains or it rained earlier and I try to take a walk, it make it inevitable for my shoes to get full of mud.
