Today when I took my last walk of the month for the Ecochallenge, I walked around my neighbourhood and felt the sun shine on my skin like during the summer months. It was very delightful and I felt quite content and grateful for everything that I have in life. I passed in front of my local high school right behind my home and got a flash back from a few years ago: I was walking past the high school with my brother one summer evening, and I saw a beautiful green luna moth on the wall. I was so mesmerized by it that I didn't even take a single picture - I just enjoyed it the way it was in that present moment. It was an incredible moment and I loved remembering it!

Higher standards of living are very often dependent on moving our environmental costs elsewhere. What are some specific ways in which the environmental impacts of your own lifestyle might be shifted elsewhere?

I think one of the main environnemental impacts of my daily life is energy consumption. This aspect should be shifted to a source of renewable energy; I would absolutely love being able to live in an energy-efficient home where all the energy that is used comes from renewables and green energies. For the moment though, I think the money we spend for my energy consumption could be placed elsewhere if it were better managed - it could be placed away into a bank account and serve for later, wether it's for travels, buying a pet or even making a switch to green energy for my home.

How can spending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place -- your deep knowledge of and appreciation for your surroundings?

Personally, spending more time outdoors really helps enhance my connection and sense of belonging to nature. The more I go outside, the more little details and little things I notice. I feel more aware of my environnement - weather, amount of light present, space available around me - and I feel more alive. It feels as though I am more in sync with nature, as though I am one with it. It also makes me appreciate the feeling of freedom within me when I am outside; whenever I am constricted to the indoors afterwards, I always feel a little bit boxed in, as if I'm missing space or air. It feels a little stuffy.

What have you noticed on your daily walks? What have you enjoyed? What infrastructure changes could make your walks more enjoyable or possible?

I've noticed a lot of beautiful nature around me every time I went for a walk outside. Wether it was the green grass or some beautiful crocus and daffodils, there was always something alive and thriving around me. I also saw a lot of animals (mostly birds) who always seem to enjoy life as they pass me by. I've really enjoyed being surrounded by nature and breathing in the fresh air while also feeling the sun on my skin. I think the infrastructure changes would be to make houses and buildings look better; architects could take the time to create infrastructure that not only uses reusable energy, but also looks good, like it's a part of nature. If buildings blended in a little more with the surrounding environment and nature, I think it could make my walks and time spent outside even better.

Today's rainfall was refreshing. It felt so good to breathe the fresh air in the morning and just be alive. I can't wait for the weather to get warmer so I can do more gardening and walk for hours at a time.

Today when I was walking outside I took a deep breath and I could smell that "fresh grass" smell. It was very energizing!

That's wonderful! The smell of fresh grass can be quite invigorating and refreshing. It is often associated with the outdoors, nature, and the arrival of spring or summer. The scent of fresh grass is known to evoke feelings of rejuvenation, vitality, and a connection to the natural environment. Many people find it uplifting and enjoy the sensation it brings. Taking a deep breath and immersing yourself in such a pleasant aroma can be a simple yet delightful way to enhance your outdoor experience.

When I was on my way back from school on Wednesday - on my usual bus ride - I saw some gorgeous yellow daffodils growing in someone's garden in front of their house. It reminded me that summer is coming soon, and now I'm all excited for the warmth to come again!

I'm noticing a lot of little blue flowers growing on almost every lawn in front of almost every house. They're so adorable and they really look amazing when there's a plenty of them growing together: truly an army of adorable blue flowers!

Ever since my cat died last Friday, I've been going on more daily walks and taking more time to be surrounded by nature. I take the time every day to look around me and notice something, and I now try to find something new, something I've never noticed before on my daily environment. My cat's death turned my life upside down, but I'm trying to be in the present moment like she was, and I also try to spread as much love as she did in my surroundings. Today I noticed how awesomely green the grass at Abbott was in some spots! What do you guys notice when you walk in your everyday life?
