World Clean Up Day - Sept 18

World Cleanup Day 2021 - are you ready to join in? It's so simple (just 3 steps) and together we can make a huge impact on our environment...here's how 1) Rally some friends, family, colleagues living nearby and help together as a team in person or virtually to cleanup our communities, local streets, rivers, lakes & parks (rubbish is to be found everywhere!). Why not even engage with the local schools & Kindergarten and get the children involved too. 2) Choose the day you wish to run your team activity (our suggestion is Friday 17th Sep) and create your own shift under this activity to log your VTO hrs! 3) Share photos of you & your teams in action, in one or both of the Earthforce Slack channels (add #worldcleanupday2021): #eq-earthforce-germany #eq-earthforce-global Remember to always adhere to local Covid safety regulations!

Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Learn the Truth About Expiration Dates
How does knowing the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates empower you to make better decisions?

Simply reading the first article and looking again at the differences between different phrasing used to put 'expiration dates' on various products re-framed my approach to how I handle food in my home.

I also find it interesting that the US has the ability, but has not acted - on how to curb the food waste encouraged by these dates. If other countries are figuring this out (spoiler alert, France is one of them), why isn't the US also addressing this as part of an environment-first administration?

After you determined your carbon footprint, did you see what different choices you can make in order to reduce it?

After calculating and viewing the impact of our hybrid car on the calculations and impact, I'm glad we made the purchase. It also encourages me to continue researching solar energy for our home. I hope the current administration can ensure benefits to make solar panels for homes accessible/affordable.

Yes, after determining your carbon footprint, you can make different choices to reduce it, such as reducing energy consumption, using public transport or electric vehicles, reducing meat consumption, and choosing renewable energy sources.
