Recycle Everything I Can
Recycling
Contamination prevents what is recyclable from being recycled. I will research and recycle all materials that are accepted by local haulers or drop stations in my community, making sure to not contaminate recyclables with non-recyclables.

Garrett Brown 5/01/2020 11:57 AMAs my ecochallenge comes to a close, I can conclude that I was very successful in reducing a little amount of my personal ecological footprint. For my one time challenge, I chose to purchase a compost bin for my food waste and I had plenty of success with it. Unfortunately due to the corona virus I left the bin back in my dorm, so I have no way of including the actual documentation of my waste. However, I had major success in my daily challenge regarding my contribution to recycling as much as possible. -
Garrett Brown 4/29/2020 6:13 PMIt has been quite an experience following my daily challenge because after doing it for such a long time I have became accustomed to recycling. It is a great habit I have created and makes me feel like I am doing a little bit of my part to reduce my ecological footprint. -
Garrett Brown 3/03/2020 2:24 PMI completed my one time challenge a while ago and I have made much use with my compost bin. As far as my daily challenge goes I have recycled at least 100 water bottles over this past month and I have done a great job watching what I am throwing away. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood CompostingProducing food that goes uneaten squanders many resources—seeds, water, energy, land, fertilizer, hours of labor, financial capital. Which of these kinds of waste most motivates you to change your behavior regarding food waste? Why?
Garrett Brown 3/03/2020 2:22 PMWater would more than likely be the leader of an area that I would want to change to decrease my waste. Drinking water is not renewable and is the most important key for our survival which is why we need to all do everything that we can to protect and preserve it. -
Garrett Brown 2/26/2020 10:20 AMI have recycled a whole pack of water bottles that I went through today. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONMaterials Recycle Everything I CanHow could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle? How does considering implementing these "R's" make you feel?
Garrett Brown 2/26/2020 10:19 AMI know I can reduce my ecological footprint by changing my ways of transportation. I could reuse my plastic bags for grocery shopping, I could refuse to buy products with high ecological footprints etc. These are just a few steps I could take along with my ecochallenge to better the economy. -
Garrett Brown 2/25/2020 1:30 PMIt's February 25th and I am not going to lie I have completely forgot to check in with my progress on here. I have actually done a great job reducing my ecological impact by going through multiple bags of compost in my compost bin. It has been very handy and I have utilized it to a great extent. I have also recycled more than 100 different items that I have either collected in my dorm or from walking outside. -
Garrett Brown 2/06/2020 8:00 AMI have bought a compost bin where I live and I’ve filled it up at least 3 different times! I also have a recycling bin and I have been doing my part by recycling every water bottle I drink and making sure all my trash gets sorted properly.
