REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land Use More Fruits And VeggiesHow does eating more fruits and vegetables and less meat positively affect yourself, other people, and our planet?
Cecilia Callozzo 4/26/2022 7:36 AMAt lunch yesterday, my friend and I began talking about meat-free meals. We came to the conclusion that if everyone ate meat-free meals just 1 day per week, we could collectively make a big impact on the meat industry and reduce our carbon footprint. Additionally, fruit-and-vegetable-filled, meat-free meals are healthier (and I personally find these meals tastier, but that's quite subjective). I think eating more fruits and vegetables, and conversely, eating less meat, is one of those baby steps that everyone can take. Vegetarianism and veganism can feel quite restrictive, but even being "flexitarian" and selecting meat-free choices when available/convenient is better for the planet (and your health) than doing nothing!
