World Clean Up Day - Sept 18
World Cleanup Day 2021 - are you ready to join in? It's so simple (just 3 steps) and together we can make a huge impact on our environment...here's how 1) Rally some friends, family, colleagues living nearby and help together as a team in person or virtually to cleanup our communities, local streets, rivers, lakes & parks (rubbish is to be found everywhere!). Why not even engage with the local schools & Kindergarten and get the children involved too. 2) Choose the day you wish to run your team activity (our suggestion is Friday 17th Sep) and create your own shift under this activity to log your VTO hrs! 3) Share photos of you & your teams in action, in one or both of the Earthforce Slack channels (add #worldcleanupday2021): #eq-earthforce-germany #eq-earthforce-global Remember to always adhere to local Covid safety regulations!

REFLECTION QUESTIONIndustry Calculate the carbon footprint of my householdAfter you determined your carbon footprint, did you see what different choices you can make in order to reduce it?
Dave Caskey-Dougherty 9/08/2021 5:27 PMOur family has a carbon footprint of 59 tons CO2/year. I was not expecting that from a family of 3 where we feel we make a good difference. The metric indicated we are better than the average by 26%, but believe there are areas our family can make improvements. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONIndustry Find a Local Climate-Friendly SupermarketHow close is the nearest climate-friendly supermarket to your home? How could you encourage local supermarket to reduce or phase out their use of HFC refrigerants?
Dave Caskey-Dougherty 9/02/2021 7:02 AMThe nearest market to me is 21.5 miles away. An observation is this was a new store which provided the ability for a choice to not use HFC refrigerants. The grocery stores closer to our home are older stores. One way is to speak with the store management and inquire about their plans for upgrades or renovations/refreshes that may be planned and suggest they include the elimination of HFC refrigerants.
