I am fortunate to live a few blocks from the beach - so I try to walk on the beach daily, weather permitting.  With 2 dogs, I also get at least 3 daily walks.  Being in Florida, when I walk the dogs, I try to find trails that are in the woods for the shade.  As far as infrastructure goes, it would be good to have sidewalks on all streets in my town, but they are sporadic - maybe in front of two houses and then you have to get back in the street - there is no consistent sidewalks and with a lot of tourist traffic on weekends and holidays, it can get a bit scary walking in the street with all the cars.
