Invite a friend to calculate the carbon footprint of their household

Individual actions are important, but people and organizations working together can make a real impact. I will share a carbon calculator with a friend and invite them to calculate the carbon footprint of their household.

Trying to use the bus or relying on carpooling was tough, but kind of interesting too! I really wish there was more safe walkable areas from the school to places nearby, but I was still able to take 30-60 minute walks to go get food, pickup prescriptions, etc. However, there were parts of walking on roads without sidewalks that had me a bit worried for my safety.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Industry Reduce Single-Use Disposables
What single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?

This was hard to do every day, but for good reason since I simply was needing to buy things every day. While taking this challenge I did notice more of just how many things are made of plastic that really don't need to be.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Transportation Go for a Daily Walk
What have you noticed on your daily walks? What have you enjoyed? What infrastructure changes could make your walks more enjoyable or possible?

There are still a lot of areas without any sort of sidewalk and even in areas like Marina and Monterey that tend to be pretty walkable. At least in comparison to my hometown that had huge stretches of areas without sidewalk.
