No I have not, I even live on a farm and have not heard of it. It provides shelter for your live stock I thing is the biggest advantage.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Electricity Spread the Word about Energy Alternatives
What inspiration and wisdom can you gather from your family, faith, or community traditions that would help you in both communicating about and addressing our most pressing energy issues?

I can inspire them to give money to help. Even help clean up trash.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Research Businesses Owned by Women, POC, or Immigrants
Globally, women typically invest a higher proportion of their earnings in their families and communities than men. What have you done in the past to support women-owned businesses? How can you better support communities by supporting women?

    Dallas Duinkerken's avatar
    Dallas Duinkerken 12/07/2020 9:38 AM
I have bought food and eggs from a women owned business.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Industry Research the Climate Impact of Refrigerants
What did you learn about the climate impact of refrigerants? How do supermarkets contribute to this impact?

    Dallas Duinkerken's avatar
    Dallas Duinkerken 12/07/2020 9:28 AM
That some that produce bad chemicals that harm the environment, but laws have now fixed some of those issues. Supermarkets contribute by selling then, and they may even be selling bad refrigerators.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Electricity Watch a Video about Methane Digesters
What does your vision of a sustainable community look like? What would need to be changed in order for such vision to become reality?

    Dallas Duinkerken's avatar
    Dallas Duinkerken 12/04/2020 8:45 AM
Less green house gasses used, and less food waste. People we need to stop driving as much cars, and start walking more places. People would also need to eat all of there food and left overs.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Health and Education Learn about the Need for Family Planning
What did you learn about the need for family planning? How do the needs of different people in different places compare to each other?

    Dallas Duinkerken's avatar
    Dallas Duinkerken 12/03/2020 10:21 AM
Family planning is a human right . Without it then it threatens the ability to "build a better future for themselves, their families and their communities."Other people's needs might be different in different places based on religion or laws.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Land Sinks Learn about Temperate Forests
As you learn more about the scope and seriousness of the environmental challenges we face, what impact does that have on your thinking and actions? What are the parts that feel overwhelming? What parts help you feel hopeful?

    Dallas Duinkerken's avatar
    Dallas Duinkerken 12/02/2020 9:29 AM
It makes me think of things that I can do to help that I have never thought of before. That everything is declining and we have to start to change things quickly or else we will have a lot of trouble in the future. It makes me feel good that their are websites and people that want to help the environment.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Health and Education Research Barriers to Participation and Representation
What are some of the barriers that exist to women's equal participation and/or representation in your community?

    Dallas Duinkerken's avatar
    Dallas Duinkerken 11/30/2020 6:33 AM
I live down in the country, not in Asheville so I feel that  in the  kinda area that surrounds us that there are a lot of sexist and racist farmers. Which is not good for them because we are the exact opposite, so they dont like us that much. I feel like, they feel that women can not farm or do things that they could do and that they should just stay inside and make food and clean. I also feel like some men think that women cant go out of the house and do things by themselves around where I live, which is just the craziest thing to me.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Learn More about Regenerative Agriculture
Clean air, clean water and healthy food are just three reasons to care about regenerative agriculture. What are some other reasons? How could/does regenerative agriculture positively impact you and your community?

    Dallas Duinkerken 11/29/2020 10:36 AM
Better environment, life. It could help eliminate the amount of waste going to the landfill.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Composting
Producing food that goes uneaten squanders many resources—seeds, water, energy, land, fertilizer, hours of labor, financial capital. Which of these kinds of waste most motivates you to change your behavior regarding food waste? Why?

    Dallas Duinkerken's avatar
    Dallas Duinkerken 11/29/2020 10:33 AM
I like the compost as a fertilizer, because it helps the land and it helps my garden.
