REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Go for a Daily WalkWhat have you noticed on your daily walks? What have you enjoyed? What infrastructure changes could make your walks more enjoyable or possible?
-
REFLECTION QUESTIONLand Sinks Learn More about SilvopastureHad you heard of the term "silvopasture" before now? After learning more about it, what do you think is the biggest advantage of silvopasture?
Miles Edwards 12/08/2020 2:18 PMI never heard of the term before. The biggest advantage is the cost savings. Because i'm all about saving that money. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity Learn More about Wave and Tidal EnergyWhat did you learn about wave and tidal energy? How do they compare to other energy sources?
Miles Edwards 12/07/2020 8:21 AMThey have a different way because they have to spin to get their energy. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity Spread the Word about Energy AlternativesWhat inspiration and wisdom can you gather from your family, faith, or community traditions that would help you in both communicating about and addressing our most pressing energy issues?
Miles Edwards 12/07/2020 8:17 AMI didn't get any additional inspiration but I still am very inspired to spread the work. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity Watch a Video about Methane DigestersWhat does your vision of a sustainable community look like? What would need to be changed in order for such vision to become reality?
Miles Edwards 12/04/2020 12:03 PMI would say I want my community to run on at least 80% renewable energy by 2040 there is a ton we have change to get there but I believe it is achievable. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth and Education Fund Family PlanningWhen family planning focuses on healthcare provision and meeting the expressed needs of women, it results in empowerment, equality, and well-being, and the benefits to the planet are side effects. Why is family planning an important civil rights consideration?
Miles Edwards 12/03/2020 11:39 AMI learned that everybody should go through planned parenthood if you plan on having a child and that we need an actual reproductive health class taught through school because we can't rely on parents to teach their kids that. The needs of different people will always be a case by case subject because one family may only need to be taught the needs of a baby where another family may need help on the decision to have a baby or adopt, or you could end up with someone who is already pregnant and needs to dicion of if the keep the baby or have an abortion. Also different places will always require different things because someone living in the boondocks will have it different from someone living in inner city public housing versus someone living in Beverly hills. So I think everyone should go through the planned parenthood system at some point in their life even if just to learn what parents with children have to go through. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLand Sinks Learn about Temperate ForestsAs you learn more about the scope and seriousness of the environmental challenges we face, what impact does that have on your thinking and actions? What are the parts that feel overwhelming? What parts help you feel hopeful?
Miles Edwards 12/02/2020 8:50 AMI think the fact of you have to have every body on board with saving the earth and not just 51 percent of people. I feel hopeful that change is coming because people are starting to realize how serious climate change is. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth and Education Research Barriers to Participation and RepresentationWhat are some of the barriers that exist to women's equal participation and/or representation in your community?
Miles Edwards 11/30/2020 12:47 PMI don't think that there really are very many in asheville at all. but in the county there definitely are because normally in rural area school doesn't matter that much to men or women. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Explore Other Transportation SolutionsWhat did you find out? What is the most interesting fact you learned?
Miles Edwards 11/27/2020 1:55 PMI found out there is more than just the way of cars as transportation. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONIndustry Find a Local Climate-Friendly SupermarketHow close is the nearest climate-friendly supermarket to your home? How could you encourage local supermarket to reduce or phase out their use of HFC refrigerants?
Miles Edwards 11/27/2020 1:47 PMThe closest one to my house isnt super close its not like i can walk to it but its also not to far away. I could encourage supermarkets to by gathering up all the evidence and then asking them if they would like to help save the world for the next generation of people.
