  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Eat Mindfully
Mindful eating is healthier for us than eating with distractions. How does your eating experience differ when practicing mindfulness?

    carlos flores 6/11/2021 8:13 AM
It is very different to eat when you are focused on it than when you are paying attention to some electrical device because when you focus on what you are eating you taste and enjoy what you eat more.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Smaller Portions
While dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come from eating/serving smaller portions?

    carlos flores's avatar
    carlos flores 6/11/2021 8:09 AM
In a small plate you can take out the necessary amount of food without overdoing it so there is less food waste.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transportation Go by Bike
How does using human-powered transportation make you feel compared to using other methods of transportation?

    carlos flores's avatar
    carlos flores 6/10/2021 7:58 AM
even though I know I'm not causing a big change using a bicycle when there are thousands of people using cars I do everything I can to start making a change and that makes me feel very good.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Action Track: Healing & Renewal Tend A Garden
Have you ever had a significant experience in nature that altered your perspective or focus? If so, please describe it.

    carlos flores's avatar
    carlos flores 6/10/2021 7:53 AM
I have not had any great experience with nature that motivates me to do this but I like to see the beauty of the gardens and how they come to life.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Electricity Choose LED Bulbs
Changing lightbulbs is an excellent first step toward energy efficiency! What's next for you?

    carlos flores's avatar
    carlos flores 6/09/2021 8:06 AM
change the lightbulbs in other houses
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Electricity Learn More about Wave and Tidal Energy
What did you learn about wave and tidal energy? How do they compare to other energy sources?

    carlos flores's avatar
    carlos flores 6/08/2021 8:12 AM
This way of creating energy is very attractive since it uses the power of nature's water and energy is obtained in a very creative way and without damaging the environment in the process.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Electricity Learn More About Geothermal Energy
Geothermal energy is reliable, abundant, and efficient. Project Drawdown states that public investment will play a crucial role in its expansion. In what ways (i.e. with money, time, advocacy) can you invest in geothermal energy?

    carlos flores's avatar
    carlos flores 6/08/2021 7:52 AM
I can invest in geothermal energy with time, and telling other people about it.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

How is your diet currently impacting deforestation? What can you do to decrease your negative impact and increase your positive impact?

    carlos flores's avatar
    carlos flores 6/07/2021 8:24 AM
some of the food I eat is laced with chemicals that damage the environment. To reduce this, I will try to eat a reduced amount of these foods and change my diet a little to a food that is healthier with the environment.
