World Clean Up Day - Sept 18
World Cleanup Day 2021 - are you ready to join in? It's so simple (just 3 steps) and together we can make a huge impact on our environment...here's how 1) Rally some friends, family, colleagues living nearby and help together as a team in person or virtually to cleanup our communities, local streets, rivers, lakes & parks (rubbish is to be found everywhere!). Why not even engage with the local schools & Kindergarten and get the children involved too. 2) Choose the day you wish to run your team activity (our suggestion is Friday 17th Sep) and create your own shift under this activity to log your VTO hrs! 3) Share photos of you & your teams in action, in one or both of the Earthforce Slack channels (add #worldcleanupday2021): #eq-earthforce-germany #eq-earthforce-global Remember to always adhere to local Covid safety regulations!

Building Retrofitting
I will spend at least 60 minutes finding out if my city, region, state, or country offers incentives for retrofitting existing buildings.
Electricity
Invite a friend to calculate the carbon footprint of their household
Individual actions are important, but people and organizations working together can make a real impact. I will share a carbon calculator with a friend and invite them to calculate the carbon footprint of their household.

Electricity
Calculate the carbon footprint of my household
I will calculate the carbon emissions associated with my household and consider how different lifestyle choices could reduce our carbon footprint and our impact on the environment.
Transportation
Go for a Daily Walk
Walkable Cities
I will take a walk for 20 minutes each day and take note of the infrastructure that makes walking more or less enjoyable, accessible, and possible.

REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity Calculate the carbon footprint of my householdAfter you determined your carbon footprint, did you see what different choices you can make in order to reduce it?
Robert Freeman 9/29/2021 7:57 AMOne of the things that was most shocking is how decreasing consumption meat would decrease our carbon footprint significantly. Another reason to switch to more vegetarian options! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Conduct Virtual MeetingsHow can you ensure that your virtual meetings honor your values and your company's culture?
Robert Freeman 9/02/2021 2:31 PMOne of the only good things coming out of the COVID-19 pandemic has been that it has forced so many workplaces to test out virtual meetings, and many have found ways to make that time just as fulfilling and effective as in-person meetings. For me, as a new manager at my previous position I was worried about leading a team for the first time digitally, but I found that it actually made me more methodical and intentional about the "screen time" that I had with my team and the ways that we were communicating. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCoastal, Ocean, and Engineered Sinks Smart Seafood ChoicesMany states and countries have advisories on eating fish. Find out what is advised for your region. Do you think your diet choices fall within these guidelines? What steps do you need to take to make sure that they do?
Robert Freeman 9/02/2021 2:29 PMMy family has discussed replacing red and white meats in our diets with salmon to try and cut down on carbon emissions, so it was really reaffirming to find this website and be able to make sure that the salmon that we do buy is coming from the best and most sustainable sources. We will definitely be watching very carefully the source and farming methods of the salmon that we buy to ensure that we are supporting best practices and sustainable farmers.
