Since joining this challenge, and since having my daughter, going for walks around the neighborhood have been a treat. Growing up in New York City, walks in and around neighborhoods, unless there was a park near by, are not enjoyable. I currently reside in NJ and have a park about a mile away. If I can't get to the park based on time, then I like to walk in and out of side blocks, looking at homes and plenty of construction. That has been my largest take a way, the construction. There are more and more high risers (5-6 floor) residential modern or "luxury" buildings in the neighborhood. If there weren't so many, which then close off some sidewalks it would make my walks more enjoyable.

There are many different entry points to the park near us yet only one statue of James Braddock, boxer. There is a beautiful pond, with turtles and trout where you can find people fishing, catch and release. Living in this neighborhood for now over 2 years and only until this year have we've been able to truly enjoy our walks in the neighborhood. What I've also noticed on my walks are wherever there's a trash can, there's a recycling bin, which I can appreciate 100 times more.

Brooklyn has now become synonomous with the magnanimous spikes in construction as a result of gentrification. Condominium complexes are popping up on every other block. However, what baffles me is even though buildings are going up fast, trash cans and recycling bins have been slow to install.

I am excited to get some of these challenges in place. So far I've selected a daily challenge that focuses on smaller portions of food to eliminate food waste. I look forward to sharing some success and challenges with you all!
