How close is the nearest climate-friendly supermarket to your home? How could you encourage local supermarket to reduce or phase out their use of HFC refrigerants?

I was surprised to learn that there is only one climate friendly super market within my area of the state, and it is about 2 miles from me. I used to shop there when I needed to find raw milk options but there are about 20 stores closer. Its a very small store, and expensive.
The only way I could think able to impact other stores to phase out or reduction in all other stores would be to help educate other people in hopes they will support the one store possible to, and that larger stores would start to notice. But really I don't think that would do much, since there will always be low income people who can not afford a high end store, and those numbers outweigh all. I dont feel that mentioning this to my local market will have any impact. I suppose I could write local government officials to ask that phaseouts be legally mandated, since CA does aim to meet the Paris Climate agreement, and awareness of this option could be helpful for them. I think something like that would be a great school assignment, since our culture as is does not provide we have the time to give such things. Having political activeness assigned (not added on, but replacing another less impactful assignment) by schools and businesses alike, as part of what we are paying for or being paid for, I feel should be a crucial part of business social responsibility. As is, our time is over consumed by responsibility to supporting businesses as a way to sustain our lives, which leaves the only availability as on their time. Not to mention that organized efforts are what is needed to make a difference, and businesses are listened to over a single individual in a capitalistic society.

Beyond carbon sequestration, what other benefits do forests offer you personally?

Forests provide me air. Forests maintain moisture levels in the environment . They provide shade (environmental protection) and beauty. Forests host ecosystems that create the health of our rivers via the filtration that happens through the fungal mycorrhizae which are inherent to their root systems. Trees not only provide air, but they filter toxins out of the air and break them down to be non toxic (as do all plants inherent to forests). I could go on and on really. The direct benefits of forests to me personally would consists of the many life supporting elements of my health and happiness, of which humans usually take for granted. Air, water, temperature control, they host food and medicine sources... the basics of human life.
