Eating without distractions really helps you focus what's in front of you, to stigma your bain on one singular thing which is almost like a form of mindfulness.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Land Sinks Learn More about Silvopasture
Had you heard of the term "silvopasture" before now? After learning more about it, what do you think is the biggest advantage of silvopasture?

    Zariya Hammond 12/08/2020 7:28 AM
I think the biggest advantage is the thriving production and health of animals and plants. Makes it more resilient and stable, and beneficially financial for farmers.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

    Zariya Hammond 12/08/2020 7:17 AM
Many old refrigerants are not as run smoothing which could causes leaks, ( CFCs). In which it damages the ozone layer, and peaks into the atmosphere.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Industry Reduce Single-Use Disposables
What single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?

    Zariya Hammond 12/07/2020 5:58 AM
metal straws, washable plates, and spoons reuse plastic water bottles.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

They contribute to the greenhouse effect. Causing ozone layer depletion, with the cause of electricity, refrigerator leeks, making a global impact.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

Methane digestors are a really good alternative. We can start off by letting this information be known. It can be used for cooking, lighting, heating, and lots more!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

Family planning is crucial, its a start of gender equality and basic human rights. Women need to be able to access information, not only for themselves but for further generations to come. The needs are all the same, knowledge is power. Change is growth.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Land Sinks Learn about Temperate Forests
As you learn more about the scope and seriousness of the environmental challenges we face, what impact does that have on your thinking and actions? What are the parts that feel overwhelming? What parts help you feel hopeful?

    Zariya Hammond's avatar
    Zariya Hammond 12/02/2020 1:04 PM
Definitely going to start using less and only things I need instead of wasting things like paper, water, and more. Knowing that most of the earth's environments are in deforestation, not only affects animals and plants but also humans. Maybe we can continue coming together as communities to do small things like plant trees and start gardening to boost the environment.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Land Sinks Research Peatlands
Much of Indonesia's peatlands have been drained so they could be replaced with palm oil or pulp and paper plantations. How can you make choices that help to protect peatlands, even if you live far away from one?

    Zariya Hammond's avatar
    Zariya Hammond 12/02/2020 12:32 PM
You can start off by conserving water, growing household plants and gardens. Don't use many pesticides and fertilizers and dont pollute!
