REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportationWhat have you noticed on your daily walks? What have you enjoyed? What infrastructure changes could make your walks more enjoyable or possible?
Ameera Hassan 4/14/2022 3:28 PMDuring my daily walks, I’ve noticed so many things by just paying attention to nature. I have noticed the growth of certain plants, the different events that happen weekly on campus and how peaceful it is to just take a walk. So far, I’ve enjoyed the warm weather and the sceneries of campus. I also enjoy seeing different faces around campus and smiling back at students who smile at me. Walking around made me realize that there is not a straight path on campus other than the academic strip. In addition, there are several stairs around campus which acknowledges that the campus is not one flat ground; there are a few hills and uneven paths.

REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportationHow can you ensure that your virtual meetings honor your values and your company's culture?
Ameera Hassan 4/14/2022 3:28 PMIn order for virtual meetings to honor my company’s values, each participant must log on about 5 minutes in advance to make sure their technology is running smoothly. This ensures that their microphone and speaker is working, and everyone can see each other. By doing so, this allows meeting to start on time and run its time. In addition, for virtual meetings to honor my company’s cultures, we must decide on a way for each participant to display their projects for everyone to see. This can either be sent to one person as the delegated screen sharer or each person could practice how to share their screen before hand to be ready to go at our staff meetings.

REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land UseWhile dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come from eating/serving smaller portions?
Ameera Hassan 3/21/2022 3:32 PMAside from environmental benefits, eating smaller food portions may have health benefits including better blood sugar control and others. Additionally, eating smaller portions can help increased satiety and weight control and improved digestion. Last one would be money back into your pocket. When dining out, we should practice ordering one meal and another when that one is finished. If not, we would be spending money to produce food waste (unless you take it to go of course). -
REFLECTION QUESTIONIndustryWhat are some more "R's" you could add to your daily practice to reduce your waste?
Ameera Hassan 3/21/2022 3:23 PMFor starters, I need to remember to bring my reusable bags with me when I am going to the Roost or any other supermarket at that. I realized that my spontaneous visits to the Roost sometimes have caused me to need a paper bag each time. To combat this, I have recently put one of the Target reusable bags into my everyday bag. This way when I decide to go to the Roost, I am able to use my shopping bag and not the paper bags they would have given.
