REFLECTION QUESTIONIndustry Practice the 5 R'sWhat are some more "R's" you could add to your daily practice to reduce your waste?
Jenna Haver 5/17/2022 1:23 AMOne more I can use is “repurpose” and finding a new way to use different items I would throw away otherwise. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Healing & Renewal Explore My AreaHow can spending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place -- your deep knowledge of and appreciation for your surroundings?
Jenna Haver 5/06/2022 10:13 PMSpending time outdoors allows me to better understand and appreciate my surroundings. I recently finished a class focused on America’s National Parks and so visiting congaree np allowed me to see the practical application of this knowledge. One thing we discussed was how experiencing the park creates a greater desire to protect them through policy support. Seeing more of congaree increased my appreciation for the parks on a local scale. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land Use More Fruits And VeggiesHow does eating more fruits and vegetables and less meat positively affect yourself, other people, and our planet?
Jenna Haver 5/06/2022 10:09 PMEating less meat aids in reducing carbon impacts, requires less land to produce fruits and vegetables, and can help with individual health. This helps my health and others through planet health. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land Use Support Women-Owned BusinessesGlobally, women typically invest a higher proportion of their earnings in their families and communities than men. What have you done in the past to support women-owned businesses? How can you better support communities by supporting women?
Jenna Haver 5/06/2022 9:59 PMMy mother and my sister both run their own small businesses. I have loved seeing them continue to grow these ventures and supported them through sharing their content, purchasing their products or participating in their events, and purchasing from fellow women in own community. Supporting these women allows them to pursue these dreams and improve the world around us. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land Use Eat MindfullyMindful eating is healthier for us than eating with distractions. How does your eating experience differ when practicing mindfulness?
Jenna Haver 5/06/2022 8:23 AMWhenever I am eating mindfully, I am able to be more in tune with my body. I recognize feelings of fullness faster and am able to really enjoy the food I am eating. When eating with others and intentionally keeping devices away, we are able to enjoy one another’s company more.
