  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Land Sinks Learn about Temperate Forests
As you learn more about the scope and seriousness of the environmental challenges we face, what impact does that have on your thinking and actions? What are the parts that feel overwhelming? What parts help you feel hopeful?

    Molly Hunt 12/04/2020 8:43 AM
As I learn more about these environmental challenges it makes me want to think about what choices i'm making that are negatively affecting the environment and contributing to these challenges. It feels overwhelming to learn about how much we as humans have basically ruined our world. It is scary to see how much damage we have done to our earth in such a short period of time. It makes me feel hopeful to see how many people actually care and are trying to make a change.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Land Sinks Research Peatlands
Much of Indonesia's peatlands have been drained so they could be replaced with palm oil or pulp and paper plantations. How can you make choices that help to protect peatlands, even if you live far away from one?

    Molly Hunt 12/04/2020 8:17 AM
You can help protect pet land even if you live far away from one by choosing what you buy wisely. For example, by not using palm or pulp oil that tends to harm pet lands.

What are some of the barriers that exist to women's equal participation and/or representation in your community?

    Molly Hunt's avatar
    Molly Hunt 11/30/2020 7:17 PM
There are many barriers that prohibit women from having equal rights within our community. Some of these include poverty, race, religion, where they were born, and the resources they lack. The coronavirus pandemic also does not help knock down these barriers at all, in fact, it is starting to do the opposite.

    Molly Hunt's avatar
    Molly Hunt 11/24/2020 8:23 PM
Right now, I eat a lot of dairy and egg products which I could cut down on. I think this is the main way I could help reduce my contribution to deforestation. I could use alternatives for milk as well as my other favorite dairy products such as ice cream.
