We have not been trying to reduce our use of palm oil products or tree destroying coffee or cocoa. Make a concerted effort to use planet friendly alternatives to palm oil and buy green frog coffee and cocoa. My wife will be the key to increasing our positive impact.

Some don't realize that the fluffy and soft tissues and toilet paper many purchase are contributing to the decimation of acres upon acres of virgin temperate rain forests.  All so that we can be a bit more comfy wiping our noses and nether regions.  We have so many ways to curb this.  I only buy coffee and chocolate from fair-trade and rainforest certified companies.  And my TP is always made from recycled sources (except for that time after lockdown when all supplies were limited.  Keep going!

    1) accurate and validated 2) permanent is best 3) must be "additional"

These USA dates are ambiguous and not well defined. So the more clarity we have should help us do a better job of determining when foods can be safely eaten.

This has always been frustrating to me, they don't seem to be correct or have much meaning and I feel like our stigma around them is a big reason a lot of food doesn't get consumed when it's perfectly ok to! i.e. if something has a best by date 2 days later then another identical product right next to it, we're more likely to choose that one. Even if it's something we're cooking that day!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Action Track: Healing & Renewal Eat Mindfully
Mindful eating is healthier for us than eating with distractions. How does your eating experience differ when practicing mindfulness?

    Steve Inglish's avatar
    Steve Inglish 4/08/2022 1:53 PM
I'm much more aware of what I'm eating and find that I really can taste/enjoy the food.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Coastal, Ocean, and Engineered Sinks Learn about Biochar
Can biochar provide additional benefits besides sequestering carbon?

Yes, increasing soil fertility and crop production could be a big benefit. Although, a number of questions remain to be answered concerning this technologies feasibility.
