REFLECTION QUESTIONLand Sinks Explore My AreaHow can spending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place -- your deep knowledge of and appreciation for your surroundings?
Izzy Jackson 5/15/2023 8:58 AM(Not today) the other day I walked around the woods by my house and looked for sticks and trees I could use to make a curtain rod from, and while I was walking around, I was able to appreciate my time in my environment. Additionally, I spent time carving those pieces of wood that I found into a viable curtain rod. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land Use Keep Track of Wasted FoodAn average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Where would you rather use this money?
Izzy Jackson 5/15/2023 8:54 AMI wasted a few slices of carrots because I was full and didn't want to eat them :/ -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Healing & Renewal Eat MindfullyMindful eating is healthier for us than eating with distractions. How does your eating experience differ when practicing mindfulness?
Izzy Jackson 5/12/2023 6:16 AMI think I did a good job eating without distractions for breakfast lunch and dinner (this is for yesterday's eating, but today I have also eaten without distractions) -
REFLECTION QUESTIONIndustry Listen to the Planet Money Podcast – “Sell Me Your Climate Bombs”What was the most surprising thing you learned from this podcast?
Izzy Jackson 5/12/2023 6:13 AMThis podcast was really interesting. I think it helped me understand what climate offsets and how you can buy them -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Healing & Renewal Go for a Daily WalkWhat have you noticed on your daily walks? What have you enjoyed? What infrastructure changes could make your walks more enjoyable or possible?

REFLECTION QUESTIONLand Sinks Forest-Friendly Foods 2How difficult or easy was it to change your diet?
Izzy Jackson 5/09/2023 6:09 AMI haven't eaten anything with palm oil in it, but as this is a daily action, I thought I'd update that I successfully avoided palm oil. I occasionally eat Nutella, but I will avoid it for this month and hopefully will find a replacement too. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONIndustry Invite a friend to calculate the carbon footprint of their householdWhat kinds of discussions did you have, or are you hoping to have with friends about climate change?
Izzy Jackson 5/09/2023 6:04 AMI hope the people I shared the carbon footprint calculator will get back to me with their thoughts and feelings on it, and that will spark a discussion about different ways we can either limit our footprint or increase offsets. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land Use Reduce Animal ProductsWhy do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our bodies, our planet, and other people?
