Cooking zero-waste meals for my family was a great experience. I was more aware of how much I was cooking, aiming not to have leftovers,  and only buying what was needed. This experience helped me to plan ahead for what I was using and buying at the store. Also aiming to eat two or three servings of fruit and vegetables help me to crave unhealthy snacks, I will continue doing all these good practices which not only help the environment but mime and my family's health.

The fall season is always amazing!! It's easier during this season to cook soups, and for me adding vegetables is a must :)

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Smaller Portions
While dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come from eating/serving smaller portions?

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Zero-waste Cooking
In North America, up to 65% of food waste happens at the consumer level. Chef Steven Satterfield advocates for utilizing every part of a vegetable. How can you incorporate using an entire vegetable, including the skins, tops, and stalks during your next meal prep?

Today was the first day doing this challenge, cookind a zero waste meal for my family. I only bought  what I need it for dinner without butying any extra ingredients. It was good to be minful  and buy only what I was using for my meal.
