REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Justice for the Whole CommunityWhat are the multiple benefits of community gardens, including carbon sequestration? Why do these benefits matter to you?
Chris Jean-Baptiste 10/13/2020 10:43 PMThere are several benefits to community gardens, some include beautify once abandoned or deteriorating areas and/or buildings, improving the quality of produce consumed by their neighbors and improving the health of people. Gardens also can improve sustainability by acting as an air filter absorbing and reprocessing carbon which in turn reduces global warming.
The community garden is important to me because of the air quality improvement. I am an outdoor person so having clean breathable air is extremely important.

REFLECTION QUESTIONIndustryWhat do you want to prioritize over material 'stuff' in your own life?
Chris Jean-Baptiste 10/13/2020 10:22 PMThe thing I want to prioritize over material stuff in my life is spending time with my family. Having the opportunity to work from home the last 8 months have been a blessing, providing me opportunities to be with my family and create wonderful memories. My goal is to do that more often and not spend some much time working and concentrating on things that do not matter. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land UseGlobally, women typically invest a higher proportion of their earnings in their families and communities than men. What have you done in the past to support women-owned businesses? How can you better support communities by supporting women?
Chris Jean-Baptiste 10/07/2020 4:30 PMWhen I usually shop, I typically look for minority owned businesses first before entertaining the big shops. This week I put an extra focus on women owned business. For lunch this week I ordered from three different local restaurants that are owned and managed by in my town of Encino Ca.
