World Clean Up Day - Sept 18
World Cleanup Day 2021 - are you ready to join in? It's so simple (just 3 steps) and together we can make a huge impact on our environment...here's how 1) Rally some friends, family, colleagues living nearby and help together as a team in person or virtually to cleanup our communities, local streets, rivers, lakes & parks (rubbish is to be found everywhere!). Why not even engage with the local schools & Kindergarten and get the children involved too. 2) Choose the day you wish to run your team activity (our suggestion is Friday 17th Sep) and create your own shift under this activity to log your VTO hrs! 3) Share photos of you & your teams in action, in one or both of the Earthforce Slack channels (add #worldcleanupday2021): #eq-earthforce-germany #eq-earthforce-global Remember to always adhere to local Covid safety regulations!

Support Local Food Systems
Plant-Rich Diets
I will source 2 percent of my food from local producers each day. This could include signing up for a local CSA, buying from a farmer's market, visiting a food co-op, foraging with a local group, or growing my own ingredients.
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use
Donating to soup kitchen
There is a soup kitchen in the area where I live that serves the community with hygiene essentials, fresh and cooked meals and misc items as needed by those who hit by the pandemic crisis and now even the hurricane Ida. I have been supporting them by buying supplies of their Amazon wishlist since January 2021. The fact that many neighbors and families are benefitted is immensely gratifying.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land Use Smaller PortionsWhile dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come from eating/serving smaller portions?
Rajni Khera 9/10/2021 8:51 AMOn days when I skip meals and end up having too much in the first meal of that day, I usually get a bad case of acid reflux. Eating small meals helps with that and weight management while maintaining high energy levels to sustain busy days. I am realizing that eating meals in salad plates is a great way to trick the mind in believing the body is satiated with that meal.
