REFLECTION QUESTIONLand Sinks Forest-Friendly Foods 2How difficult or easy was it to change your diet?
Paul Krämer 6/07/2021 2:28 PMBecause there are so many „synonyms“ for palm oil and also so many products in our daily lives, that contain it, its quite difficult for me, to keep track of what I‘m eating. Once I‘ve adapted to my new diet, it will be much easier for me. Its all about learning. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity Choose LED BulbsChanging lightbulbs is an excellent first step toward energy efficiency! What's next for you?
-
REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity Invite a friend to calculate the carbon footprint of their householdWhat kinds of discussions did you have, or are you hoping to have with friends about climate change?
Paul Krämer 5/11/2021 5:04 AMThe main "discussion" was about traveling by plane. My friend normally travels by plane about 3-5 times a year, even for short trips, which, I think, is unnessessary. Many beautiful vacation areas are easily reachable by train or car. And also there are many wonderful destinations near your home. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLand Sinks Forest-Friendly Foods 1How is your diet currently impacting deforestation? What can you do to decrease your negative impact and increase your positive impact?
Paul Krämer 5/05/2021 6:05 AMCurrently I'm not in need of a diet, but by having a look at the things I might buy at the local super market, I can already make a difference. I read what kind of products are mainly responsible for deforestation, so I now I know, how to reduce my influence on the climate change. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land Use Learn the Truth About Expiration DatesHow does knowing the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates empower you to make better decisions?
Paul Krämer 4/30/2021 3:08 PMYou should always rely on your natural instincts when it comes to food, which expiration date is reached. Most of the food is still edible, even weeks or months after their expiration dates, depending on the kind of product. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Healing & Renewal Go for a Daily WalkWhat have you noticed on your daily walks? What have you enjoyed? What infrastructure changes could make your walks more enjoyable or possible?
Paul Krämer 4/29/2021 3:56 AMI enjoyed having a wlak in the park nearby. I walked in the late evening hours, so it was pretty quiet around me. So I was able to get rid of bad thoughts. i love walks in the dark, when nobody is around. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Building Resilience Learn More about Regenerative AgricultureClean air, clean water and healthy food are just three reasons to care about regenerative agriculture. What are some other reasons? How could/does regenerative agriculture positively impact you and your community?
Paul Krämer 4/28/2021 7:49 AMRegenerative agriculture increases biodiversity and dispenses with artificial fertilizers, which is very important for the recovery of carbon in the ground. Regenerative agriculture helps regaining nature's health and affects our climate positively. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land Use Keep Track of Wasted FoodAn average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Where would you rather use this money?
Paul Krämer 4/28/2021 5:36 AMI would save the money over many years and invest into a geothermal energy pump for my home. An investment for the future. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land Use More Fruits And VeggiesHow does eating more fruits and vegetables and less meat positively affect yourself, other people, and our planet?
Paul Krämer 4/26/2021 12:05 AMBy eating less meat, the amount of emissions, that are produced directly and indirectly, are being reduced and and this leads to lower rates in chronic diseases, which is followed by lower costs for health insurance and economy -
REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity Calculate the carbon footprint of my householdAfter you determined your carbon footprint, did you see what different choices you can make in order to reduce it?
