Today I went to costco. I needed paper towel, however I remembered the last pack I opened was wrapped in a big plsatic and each of the towel rolls were individually wrapped as well. I didn't like this extra waste such a big producer was causing so I decided to not buy the paper towels and head to walmart right after and look for a more sustainable action. I also bought glass Tupperwares as they are known to last longer than plastic. I am aware that glass takes 1 million years to decompose so in order to keep it sustainable I am extra careful with my new tupperwares and swear to take good care of them and pass them on to my kids!

I have been carpooling when this service has been available to me. My friend lives to my west and we both do our groceries at the same supermarket east of our homes, Marche P.A. Challenging myself to reduce Co2 emissions I realized it didn't make much sense to both do a drive all alone every week at different times to get to the same destination. So I called up my friend and said, "hey why don't we start doing groceries together". He said it was a great idea, also so we can spend time together since we don't see each-other often since school started, and we have fun doing it! I also try to take public transportation when it makes sense. I take the bus if I have a quick errand to make during the day when buses are empty to reduce the probability of me getting the corona virus. With the objective of reducing global warming, I assume I carpool a cool 45 kilometers a week (no pun intended). I do not travel much because of this virus, if we were in our regular lives I would be travelling an estimated 4x as much a week in a carpool

I have been challenging myself to improve my cooking skills by using every part of every ingredient I cook with for example I made steak with asparagus and potatoes Tuesday night. Wednesday I had scraps from the bottoms of my asparagus and skins from my potatoes so I decided to make a vegan cream of asparagus soup (no cream, I thickened it with chickpea flour and reduced it). On the side, I took the leftover potato skins and deep-fried them. This was a great meal that was not only vegan but I would have otherwise thrown out the ingredients.
