    I have sat down in front of my house to absorb some Vitamin D and enjoy being outside. The weather is getting nicer so I make sure I can enjoy every minute of it.  I felt more at ease when I was sitting on the grass, I felt connected and calmer.

    I live off-campus and we have two trash cans in front of our house. I am ensuring that we put the correct materials in each bin, for example keeping cardboard separate from regular garbage. I am doing a better job at recycling and not putting my empty bottles in the trash can, but instead in separate bags.

    During spring break I was in nature twice. I first was around a body of water near a park. I walked toward the rocks in that section and began to feel at ease. As well, for my mother's birthday weekend we went to the Hudson River and enjoyed the view. My mom and I were enjoying the ducks making their quack noises and the water swiftly moving to the wind.

    Globally, women typically invest a higher proportion of their earnings in their families and communities than men. What have you done in the past to support women-owned businesses? How can you better support communities by supporting women?

    While I was on social media, I came across a Dominican woman handmaking knitted blankets. She is currently making five blankets at a time. I have reached out and supported her by asking for information and giving her props and congratulation for being an entrepreneur. I did not buy a blanket, but I made sure to reach out and support by telling other people interested.

    What are some more "R's" you could add to your daily practice to reduce your waste?

    I currently live off-campus and  I have been using useable wooden or plastic utensils when I am eating. This is safer for the environment and made it convenient for me to take utensils anywhere I go instead of bringing a metal one from home. I also began using a reusable rubber straw. The straw is kept in a small circle container that was given from SUNY New Paltz. This straw became extremely convenient than using plastic straws that are harmful to the animals in the sea.

    What are some of the barriers that exist to women's equal participation and/or representation in your community?

    I have researched for 45 minutes women that were born in the 1800s that took leadership roles and represented people of color. I came across a woman named E. Kitch Childs. She pursued higher education and was in psychology and in the LGBTQ+ community. She owned her own practice in 1973 and provided therapy to LGBTQ+ folks living with HIV/AIDS. She focused on feminist therapy and centered her research on the experiences of black women. She is known for her participation in the Women's Liberation Movement in North America and for advocating for people of color women, prostitutes, gays, and lesbians.
