Action Track: Healing & Renewal
More Fruits And Veggies
I will eat a heart healthy diet by adding 3 cups of fruits and vegetables each day to achieve at least 4 cups per day.
Industry
Practice the 5 R's
Recycling
I will Practice the "5 Rs" — refuse, reduce, reuse, repurpose, and recycle — to reduce my waste more than I can with just recycling alone.
Transportation
Go for a Daily Walk
Walkable Cities
I will take a walk for 15 minutes each day and take note of the infrastructure that makes walking more or less enjoyable, accessible, and possible.

REFLECTION QUESTIONIndustryWhat are some more "R's" you could add to your daily practice to reduce your waste?
John McCarrick 2/21/2021 4:25 PMLiving in a house with 7 other people, recycling can be an issue but I have made an effort to make sure that everyone in my house is recycling as well. I have a Keurig coffee machine in my room and have recently discovered reusable K-cups. Instead of using the plastic K-cups everyday now I use the same reusable K-cup and grind my own coffee. It is great because the coffee is way fresher now too! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportationWhat have you noticed on your daily walks? What have you enjoyed? What infrastructure changes could make your walks more enjoyable or possible?
John McCarrick 2/21/2021 4:19 PMLiving in the town of New Paltz, the rail trial is about 100 feet from my house so I have been constantly walking on the rail trail. I try to take my walks in the late afternoon around sunset as a way to end the day and to get a second wind form my homework. I have found the walks as a great way to relax and clear my head. I usually walk the same stretch of the rail trail so in the future I may switch the direction or even walk a different trail.
