REFLECTION QUESTIONIndustry Encourage my company and/or organization to measure and manage their carbon footprintWhat else can you do to hold your organization accountable to implement sustainable practices?
ezra mcnaughton 5/22/2023 9:19 AMI asked the restaurant I work at if they measure their carbon footprint, to which they said no. It makes sense as that isn't necessarily a main focus for a company focused on profit, however I encouraged them to look into it. I don't really feel like I have the power to hold an entire business accountable for something I have no expertise in. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONIndustry Research Cement AlternativesConcrete is a good example of a material that most of us encounter every day, but its carbon footprint may not be obvious. What other everyday materials might have a large carbon footprint? How can you find out more?
ezra mcnaughton 5/22/2023 9:17 AMAluminium, brick, and steel. You can find out more by researching "what building materials release the most carbon?" -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Healing & Renewal More Fruits And VeggiesHow does eating more fruits and vegetables and less meat positively affect yourself, other people, and our planet?
ezra mcnaughton 5/22/2023 9:13 AMI ate some salad and an apple this morning which made me feel a lot more energized than a bacon egg and cheese. It positively impacts our planet by reducing animal farming with high methane release. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land Use CompostingProducing food that goes uneaten squanders many resources—seeds, water, energy, land, fertilizer, hours of labor, financial capital. Which of these kinds of waste most motivates you to change your behavior regarding food waste? Why?
ezra mcnaughton 5/22/2023 9:09 AMusing food waste to generate energy motivates me to compost, as it is a source of renewable energy -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land Use Eat MindfullyMindful eating is healthier for us than eating with distractions. How does your eating experience differ when practicing mindfulness?

REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Try CarpoolingList some of the places you frequent often (work, grocery store, natural areas). Could you choose one or two days a week to schedule driving with a friend, neighbor or co-worker to these places?
ezra mcnaughton 5/22/2023 9:06 AMWork, grocery store, hikes. I try to carpool as much as possible, usually around 4 times a week. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Healing & Renewal Explore My AreaHow can spending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place -- your deep knowledge of and appreciation for your surroundings?
ezra mcnaughton 5/08/2023 9:52 AMI really noticed a lot of wildlife, I was like "damn we need to save the environment so these squirrels can thrive" -
