    switching from peat-based garden items to coconut coir-based growing media. using PCR paper and reducing purchase of processed foods helps also.

    i already refuse, repair, and repurpose a lot of items in my life. i always try to fix something i have before i consider replacing it, and when i do have to replace something, i look first to see if i can get a secondhand item so that i limit my environmental impact.

    the most significant experience i've had inn nature was when i grew food for the first time. it shifted my focus away from consumerism and altered my opinions on food waste, especially since i took tremendous time and care growing an item that only lasted for one meal.

    i've noticed a lot of urban sprawl and revitalization/gentrification on my walks. with population growth happening rapidly where i live, infrastructure is improving, but access to natural areas is becoming restricted.

    i planted trees around my property. it helps mentally because they're relaxing to look at. physically it's nice to play in the dirt and tend to something and take care of it.

    i commute 30mi to and from work every day, so it would reduce my expenses as well as impact on the planet to drive a hybrid.

    in order to have a sustainable future, reliance upon finite resources must drop dramatically, if not altogether. the best way to get the ball rolling is to lead by example, and i plan to get a hybrid/electric car in the near future.
