Chris's actions
Transport
Research and Consider Switching to a Hybrid or Electric Vehicle
Electric Cars, Hybrid Cars
I will spend at least 30 minutes researching and weighing my options to see if a hybrid or electric vehicle makes sense for my lifestyle.
Food
Keep Track of Wasted Food
Reduced Food Waste
I will keep a daily log of food I throw away during Drawdown Ecochallenge, either because it went bad before I ate it, I put too much on my plate, or it was scraps from food preparation.
Transport
Use Muscle Power
Multiple Transportation Solutions
I will cut my car trip mileage by only taking necessary trips, and I will only use muscle-powered transportation for all other trips.
Food
Smaller Portions
Reduced Food Waste
I will use smaller plates and/or serve smaller portions when dishing out food.
Food
Smart Seafood Choices
Ocean Farming
I will visit seafoodwatch.org or download the app and commit to making better seafood choices for a healthier ocean.

Chris Muck 1/23/2020 9:24 PMEveryone is doing such a good job! Well done...let's finish strong! -
Chris Muck 1/22/2020 6:57 PMOur behated Prez told Greta she should concentrate her efforts on other countries because "we are great". That's the kind of attitude that just will not serve the Earth. We all need to act, not just the other guy...I believe we are all in this together. -
Chris Muck 1/21/2020 9:01 PMGreta is back in action in Davos. Does that girl ever go to school...or does she just school us on our lack of action. I'll think I'll ask her if she wants to be on our team for the last 10 days? Bring it home, Carbon Killers!! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodWhile dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come from eating/serving smaller portions?
Chris Muck 1/20/2020 5:56 PMMy problem is...I eat everything on my plate...and was raised to do so. There is no "waste" involved...but I could easily eat half of what I do and still be fine...better for it even. If I order pizza...always large, cheeseburger, double, dessert, absolutely! SO, no more of that...and that is a challenge! -
Chris Muck 1/20/2020 5:53 PMI was peddling up the hill today, minding my own business, headed to White Rabbit for some gravity therapy when no less than 5 electric sleds passed me...like I was going in reverse...lol. I was envious of the ease at which they were kinda sorta peddling up the hill. It made me think, however, about electric power overall and how it had changed transportation, specifically. On one side, you are benefiting from less emissions from cars, but the other side, bikes, scooters, skateboards, hover-boards...etc are all becoming electric powered or aided. What gives! When I was a kid, when most of us were kids, we had to peddle it, or push it to get where we wanted...these new wippersnappers...i tell ya! Anyway, that is my thought for the day. -
Chris Muck 1/18/2020 10:15 PMHalf way through the challenge! -
Chris Muck 1/16/2020 1:53 PMSnow, snow, snow! Makes one want to walk!
