REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Justice for the Whole Community Start a Social Media CampaignHow are people responding to the statistics you're sharing on social media?
Tate Oliva 4/22/2020 12:38 PMI started a social media awareness campaign on the effects of female education on climate change. I shared information and resources on this topic and was amazed to reach an enthusiastic audience. Multiple people shared their thoughts on the topic and said that they were grateful for the opportunity to learn about something they had never heard before. This was a great experience and I was able to both learn and teach.-

REFLECTION QUESTIONMaterials Research Cement AlternativesConcrete is a good example of a material that most of us encounter every day, but its carbon footprint may not be obvious. What other everyday materials might have a large carbon footprint? How can you find out more?
Tate Oliva 4/22/2020 12:32 PMConcrete was fascinating to research. The concrete industry is one of the primary producers of CO2. Concrete also damages the topsoil layer of the earth and contributes to problems like runoff, soil erosion, water pollution, and flooding. There are however new options for building in concrete such as Green concrete, ashcrete, micro silica concrete, and even coral cement! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLand Use Forest-Friendly Foods 1How is your diet currently impacting deforestation? What can you do to decrease your negative impact and increase your positive impact?
Tate Oliva 1/03/2020 3:29 PMBy cutting back my consumption of non environmentally sourced products from chocolate to dairy/meat/eggs to coffee toprocesses goods containing palm oil, I can significantly reduce my personal contribution to deforestation. -
