Transportation Research and Consider Switching to a Hybrid or Electric Vehicle
Reducing (or eliminating) exhaust emissions and improving public health are two benefits of green vehicles. What other motivators inspire you to consider switching to a more fuel-efficient vehicle?

I would want to eventually buy a green vehicle because the overall cost is much lower. The price of gas fluctuates and is required for traditional cars regardless of whether you can afford it. If I get an electric vehicle, the adjacent goal is to have solar panels to provide the needed electricity. The main motivator is independence through renewable resources.

Knowing the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates is empowering because I can better plan my meals and navigate grocery shopping.

This week I spent 30 minutes learning about old refrigerants. They contain harmful greenhouse gases such as CFC, HFC, and HCFC. I also learned about the true extent of the harm they can cause and the importance of proper disposal. I knew CFC gas was terrible for the environment, especially the ozone layer, but I wasn't aware it was used in refrigerators and still a significant issue.

Why are old refrigerant gases so harmful to our environment?

Old refrigerant gases contain HFCs and HCFCs. When leaked from the old refrigerators, these gases are potent greenhouse gases, cause significantly more damage than carbon, and stay in the atmosphere for up to 29 years. It's essential to properly dispose of refrigerators to minimize their harm to the environment.

Thanks for educating us Poem. I will remember this the next time I need to dispose of an old fridge.
