REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land Use Reduce Animal ProductsWhy do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our bodies, our planet, and other people?
Norah Pauley-DeLapp 2/28/2023 7:55 PMFor me, this was the trickiest reflection question. Today, I decided to give it a try. In 2022, the United States, (which is a wealthy country) produced the most beef in the world (according to a quick google search). So perhaps richer countries are able to produce more meat, meaning they consume more.
I do have meat in my diet, but also have nothing against removing it or some of it from your diet. The problem is mass production of animals, where a lot of the meat being produced isn't eaten, which is wasteful and hurtful to the environment, because of all the fossil fuels burned. -

REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Healing & Renewal Go for a Daily WalkWhat have you noticed on your daily walks? What have you enjoyed? What infrastructure changes could make your walks more enjoyable or possible?
Norah Pauley-DeLapp 7/19/2022 6:50 PMI enjoy seeing different people doing things, such as yard work, playing with a sibling or friend, or sitting in a peaceful spot. A lot of times when I walk out of my neighborhood I see trash and wish people didn't litter.-

REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Healing & Renewal Eat MindfullyMindful eating is healthier for us than eating with distractions. How does your eating experience differ when practicing mindfulness?
Norah Pauley-DeLapp 6/21/2022 7:18 PMEvery night I eat dinner with my family with no distractions, and I'm really glad. We learn about each other's day, and all sorts of subjects come and we learn things about each other we didn't know. Dinner is a lot of times the highlight of the day not because of the food but because I get to see and talk with my family, and if we ate with phones out it wouldn't be the same. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity Advocate for Solar InstallationHow does advocating for rooftop solar connect to your values? How might you be able to get others involved in advocating for the shift to clean energy?
Norah Pauley-DeLapp 5/21/2022 4:49 AMIt helps the earth and I want to help the earth. I can help to get others involved by explaining the importance of solar energy and how everyone should have access even if they can't install them on their roof. Now, we have a law passed for shared solar. -
