What are some more "R's" you could add to your daily practice to reduce your waste?

Some of the main R's that I have been practicing in my daily actions are mainly recycling and reusing. I have been recycling all of the plastic bottles and cans that I have been using. I also recycle any other materials that I throw away that can be recycled such as cardboard or other types of plastic containers or objects. I have also been reusing a lot of my water bottles. I have around 3 water bottles that I reuse every day in order to cut back on purchasing plastic water bottles. Some more R's that I could add into my daily practices are reduce and refuse. I can reduce a lot of the waste that I have to end up throwing out on a daily basis by trying to reuse different items. For example, instead of just throwing a plastic bag away I could try to find another use for that bag. I also can refuse to take part in certain actions that may be harmful to the environment. For example, I can refuse to purchase a lot of plastic items for myself or  any other items that may be harmful to the environment.

Changing lightbulbs is an excellent first step toward energy efficiency! What's next for you?

The next step for me would be to try and not only continue to keep changing more light bulbs, but to also encourage more people to do the same. Changing these regular incandescent light bulbs to LED light bulbs can help make a big difference in the environment. I have also grown to like LED lights better because I feel that they are also brighter then the regular light bulbs. I have already encouraged some of my family who do not live in the same house as me and some of my friends. I have already gotten some good feeback from one of my friends who was telling me how much he likes LED light bulbs better and that them being better for the environment was just another bonus of having LED light bulbs.

    Food, Agriculture, and Land Use
While dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come from eating/serving smaller portions?

Some benefits that might come from eating/serving smaller portions is just beginning to be healthier. With eating smaller portions with each meal you may begin to get into better shape then when we would load our plates with more food then we might have needed. Living a more healthy lifestyle is one of the other main benefits to eating smaller portions.

What inspiration and wisdom can you gather from your family, faith, or community traditions that would help you in both communicating about and addressing our most pressing energy issues?

I have been very inspired to talk about addressing different energy issues with some of my family and friends. I have spoken to my family about different issues such as what better energy sources we can use instead of fossil fuels such as solar energy. My parents have recently put solar panels on the roof of our house. I am excited to continue to learn more about these issues.
