Maya Rao

I don't think that I viewed nature as being restorative until I started doing work at Beardsley Farm. The repetitive and laborious tasks, the sound of birds and people working, the sun beating down on my skin; it made me realize that life can be taken slow and with intent. Working in nature and with plants made me re-center and think of life differently. I now hope that I can do outreach with community farms to help change other people's perspectives on agriculture in an urban setting.
