REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land Use Reduce Animal ProductsWhy do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our bodies, our planet, and other people?
Joshua Rhee 6/08/2023 10:44 PMPeople from wealthier countries are often predisposed to having larger diets or increased access to different food items. For this reason, consumerism is much higher in post-developmental nations as opposed to developing ones. It's important to manage the usage of resources with respect to the number of people those resources are intended to feed. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Learn about Carbon OffsetsWhat are some attributes of an offset that you should consider before purchasing them?
Joshua Rhee 5/08/2023 3:28 PMcarbon offset credits are essentially a way to directly support work towards destroying refrigerants which are considered among the most potent green house gasses. In this way, its different from reduction emissions and more akin to actively destroying green house sources. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Go for a Daily WalkWhat have you noticed on your daily walks? What have you enjoyed? What infrastructure changes could make your walks more enjoyable or possible?
Joshua Rhee 4/24/2023 3:24 PMIn larger cities, it seems that pedestrian walk ways are seen as second thoughts that work around city road infrastructure which results in frustratingly inefficient or dangerous crosswalks for the few people that might want to travel by foot. The lack of adequate walkways incentivize travel by automobile or by bikes unfortunately. -
Joshua Rhee 4/11/2023 3:39 PMI've been trying to eat plant-based products as one of my challenges. I've found that because of my own relationship with food being 'strange' at times, diet related challenges are sometimes really hard to get through. The other challenge I've done involves taking walks and taking note of the environment. During these walks I was more sensitive to the amount of pedestrian-friendly installments in the area such as cross-walks and wide/narrow streets.
