REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land Use Reduce Animal ProductsWhy do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our bodies, our planet, and other people?
Carmen Richardson-Skinder 6/12/2021 8:18 AMBecause meat is a luxury that many people cant afford. In moderation it is all right for you but eating in excess is bad. It's also very bad for the planet. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Healing & Renewal Tend A GardenHave you ever had a significant experience in nature that altered your perspective or focus? If so, please describe it.

REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land Use Support Organic Growing MethodsIt is often said that “you can’t feed the world with just organic food.” What is your response to that statement?
Carmen Richardson-Skinder 6/12/2021 8:15 AMI don't have a definitive answer but we could feed the world with a lot more organic food than we are now. Just because we don't have the full solution doesn't mean we shouldn't do it. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land Use Zero-waste CookingIn North America, up to 65% of food waste happens at the consumer level. Chef Steven Satterfield advocates for utilizing every part of a vegetable. How can you incorporate using an entire vegetable, including the skins, tops, and stalks during your next meal prep?
Carmen Richardson-Skinder 6/12/2021 8:14 AMPick vegetables that allow you to do so. For instance lettuce would be a good bet. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity Learn More about Micro WindMicro turbines can be placed on large structures to take advantage of stronger, steadier breezes. The Eiffel Tower now sports vertical axis turbines that produce electricity for use on site. Where could micro turbines potentially be installed in your city?
Carmen Richardson-Skinder 6/12/2021 8:13 AMThe buildings surrounding the state house, and churches. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity Learn More about BiomassHad you ever heard of biomass technology before you took this challenge? What did you learn that surprised you? Share your new knowledge with your friends!
Carmen Richardson-Skinder 6/12/2021 8:12 AMI hadn't heard of it before. It was interesting because it talked about how people grew crops specifically for biomass which sort of defeats the purpose. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Healing & Renewal Explore My AreaHow can spending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place -- your deep knowledge of and appreciation for your surroundings?
Carmen Richardson-Skinder 6/12/2021 8:11 AMBecause it allows you to connect to nature and foster an appreciation for it.
