While completing my Drawdown Ecochallenges I've found myself questioning why more individuals and apartment companies haven't used these solutions to make an impact on the environment. With building retrofitting technologies and tips individuals and companies could save money and energy. While I learned a lot the most interesting building and city solution I found was by creating walk-able cities it allows individuals to do more walking instead of driving. Walkable cities also allow for communities to come together and gives individuals time to clear their minds and become healthier. Cities can also promote using public transit instead of relying on an individuals own transportation vehicle. This can be done by creating a bus exclusive lane in cities to make buses more time efficient making the buses more attractive to use. Without drawdown solutions I may have not been able to find the solutions that cities and building can use to make everyday life more environmentally friendly.

While researching Drawdown building solutions and ways to make cities more sustainable I found a lot of solutions. A Building Automation system can measure and automatically adjust all electronic systems to save energy. Alternative refrigerants can produce less greenhouse gases by reducing the use of fluorinated gases. Both of these solutions can make your building more sustainable and help you play a part in making a more sustainable society. The most interesting solution I found was the retrofit solution. With this solution efficiency, energy, and refrigerants are all addressed and switched to be more sustainable. While theres so many solutions to make your life more sustainable  and help the environment, so I am going to take what I've learned and implement them in my daily life

Day 29: I have just realized I was Supposed to be clicking the circle to show that I completed my daily challenge. I believe I have only ate 1 meat a day for the last 29 days besides one time.

Day 23: I was very tempted to eat more meat today because I went to a friends house and did not want to be picky. I was able to find a way to only eat 1 meat though.

Day 22: I had one day where I ate more than one meat a day, but I’m getting more used to not eating meat.

Day 15: I have not eaten more then one meat a day, but I did eat red meat for the first time in a year and a half.  I have found lots of plant based substitutes for meat and have enjoyed them a lot.

Why do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our bodies, our planet, and other people?

Day 6: Richer countries are able to devote more capital and time into producing agriculture with supplies and water. Richer countries have access to plenty of space for the wheat and other stuff, that cattle need, to grow for their nourishment. The amount of food grown for cattle is enough to feed many many families on a vegan diet, but in richer countries people have grown accustom to eating meat with every meal. With this type of diet, richer country's populations have more problems with over production of cholesterol within the body causing long term health problems. Not only is eating meat three times a day bad for our bodies but it is also bad for our environment. This excessive meat eating requires land to be turned into farming land and a lot of water that could be drank by humans is going into producing this agriculture. Societies that have a smaller economy do not have equal access to the supplies needed to sustain cattle and eat meat as much as countries with a larger economy. Richer countries also use land and resources from these smaller economy countries to produce their cattle, creating an environmental injustice pushed on these citizens in the smaller countries.

I started my challenge of eating only one meal with meat 5 days ago. So far I have not eaten any meat and have supplemented it plant based substitutes and vitamins. Personally, my body feels better now then it did a week ago. Hopefully it continues on this path.
