MAYRA RODRIGUEZ 4/28/2022 9:29 PMI was able to meet all the challenges, but some more than others. Most of the challenges are a part of me and it is natural for me to do regularly. As, the other parts were a new experience. I think it was easy to do those that are a part of me because I enjoy it and it helps me personally on different levels. Knowing that these actions are not only helping me but that it can also help others makes me feel good. The one I found to be most challenging is the mindful eating. I have always watched TV with my family as we eat. When, I am eating breakfast or lunch then I try my best to not use a phone, computer, or watch TV. Simply enjoying my food, the feeling is great and it allows me to be at peace. People fail to understand that seeing something or being distracted prevents you to have a clear mind or to enjoy your food. I love gardening so from the beginning I new that this will not be challenging and that is a way that I practice sustainability. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Building ResilienceHow is planting trees good for your mental, physical, and spiritual health?
MAYRA RODRIGUEZ 4/10/2022 3:53 PMPlanting a tree is good for my mental, physical and spiritual health because it gives me a peace of mind, hope and allows to stop overthinking. When I am planting my mind shuts out and I focus so much on love my plants and doing everything with love. This is very therapeutic for me.

REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Healing & RenewalHow does eating more fruits and vegetables and less meat positively affect yourself, other people, and our planet?
MAYRA RODRIGUEZ 4/10/2022 3:49 PMEating more fruits and vegetable and less meat helps my mood feel positive. It always helps my food feel great, when I eat my fruits and vegetable I feel less bloated and feel more satisfied then unhealthy food which something leaves me over bloated or wanting more of something else.

REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Healing & RenewalHave you ever had a significant experience in nature that altered your perspective or focus? If so, please describe it.
MAYRA RODRIGUEZ 3/25/2022 8:34 PMPlanting trees is so good for my mental, physical and spiritual health. As I plant, I zone out of my thoughts and my emotions and only focus on planting with a clear mind which allows me to take advantage of this moment as a mental, physical and spiritual help. Planting makes me feel good especially when my plants grow. Most plants help with the air and environment, which physically helps us. -

REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Healing & RenewalWhat have you noticed on your daily walks? What have you enjoyed? What infrastructure changes could make your walks more enjoyable or possible?
MAYRA RODRIGUEZ 3/05/2022 5:02 PMHello,
On my daily walks I notice that everyone needs some me time and space away from what they doing. We get wrapped up in everything we working on at that moment and very often we ignore that inner feeling asking us for a break or to slow down. If I would walk and be on the phone it may be a bit more enjoyable and I may even walk a little bit longer but I try to make this my time to clear my thoughts and my break time.

REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land UseGlobally, women typically invest a higher proportion of their earnings in their families and communities than men. What have you done in the past to support women-owned businesses? How can you better support communities by supporting women?

MAYRA RODRIGUEZ 3/05/2022 4:41 PMHello,
Below is my list of sustainability practices in the Eco Challenge. I picked these because these are a part of me and my lifestyle. I find it challenging when I try to change something or when I start to practice something new but I try my best to stay focused and dedicate myself to do the right thing I think being consistent is the most challenging, especially with our busy schedules but after you repeat something over and over; it becomes easier. I want to influence others to live a healthier and better lifestyle, sometimes it’s hard but it’s all worth the efforts.
