Hunter Romo 11/01/2022 6:40 PMI found that using the sustainable seafood app valuable when shopping because I have a clear comprehensive guide on how to reduce my impact of fisheries and oceans in my diet. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLand Sinks Buy BambooAre bamboo alternatives readily available in your community? If not, what are other sustainable alternatives?
Hunter Romo 11/01/2022 6:38 PMBamboo alternatives in my community are typically a trendy choice for design. I purchased bamboo straws that are just cut from hard stalks instead of having plastic or metal straws. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONIndustry Practice the 5 R'sWhat are some more "R's" you could add to your daily practice to reduce your waste?
Hunter Romo 11/01/2022 9:58 AMI'm trying to consume less and repurpose more and be more conscious of when I can reuse something rather than dispose of it. If I need to buy something new, I'll make it a point to buy something that will last me a long time and maybe spend a little bit more money in the short term to have a product that will last longer. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Healing & Renewal Go for a Daily WalkWhat have you noticed on your daily walks? What have you enjoyed? What infrastructure changes could make your walks more enjoyable or possible?
Hunter Romo 10/25/2022 1:55 PMIt's whale migration season and walks to and on Ord state beach are a great way to see whales. It is a little bit harder to walk from campus to the beach due to construction, but it will be easier once complete. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCoastal, Ocean, and Engineered Sinks Smart Seafood ChoicesMany states and countries have advisories on eating fish. Find out what is advised for your region. Do you think your diet choices fall within these guidelines? What steps do you need to take to make sure that they do?
Hunter Romo 10/25/2022 1:51 PMThe only advisories in Monterey county are mercury concentration advisories for bat rays and leopard sharks, both of which are not in my diet. If I eat fish, I eat local seafood as much as possible or catch my own if it's in season.
