  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Smaller Portions
While dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come from eating/serving smaller portions?

    Bianca Rosa's avatar
    Bianca Rosa 9/30/2021 6:35 AM
The average American could cut their diet-related environmental impacts by nearly one half just by eating less meat and dairy.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Industry Go Paperless
What do you want to prioritize over material 'stuff' in your own life?

    Bianca Rosa's avatar
    Bianca Rosa 9/30/2021 6:33 AM
Going paperless helps to reduce C02 (carbon dioxide) emissions.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Support Women-Owned Businesses
Globally, women typically invest a higher proportion of their earnings in their families and communities than men. What have you done in the past to support women-owned businesses? How can you better support communities by supporting women?

    Bianca Rosa's avatar
    Bianca Rosa 9/30/2021 6:32 AM
When you support Women Owned businesses, you are investing in women's economic empowerment, gender parity in commerce, vibrant communities, and the growth of the economy overall.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Land Sinks Buy Bamboo
Are bamboo alternatives readily available in your community? If not, what are other sustainable alternatives?

    Bianca Rosa's avatar
    Bianca Rosa 9/30/2021 6:29 AM
Who does not love Bambo? Bambo is such a fast growing plant that does not need any fertilizers and it self-generates from its own roots. Here in Florida many use Bambo instead of building a fence and I adore it.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Industry Become A Master Recycler/Composter
What could you do differently to waste less?

    Bianca Rosa's avatar
    Bianca Rosa 9/30/2021 6:28 AM
Coming from Europe, recycling was always part of my lifestyle, something you did not think about twice. When I moved to the United States, the recycling initiatives weren't as advanced as in Europe. It is so imperial to recycle as it saves energy and reduces greenhouse gas emissions, which helps to tackle climate change.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Composting
Producing food that goes uneaten squanders many resources—seeds, water, energy, land, fertilizer, hours of labor, financial capital. Which of these kinds of waste most motivates you to change your behavior regarding food waste? Why?

    Bianca Rosa's avatar
    Bianca Rosa 9/30/2021 6:25 AM
I am a big advocate of composting ever since I lived in Hawaii. It not only enriches soil, and retains moisture but also reduces the need for chemical fertilizers.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Electricity Choose LED Bulbs
Changing lightbulbs is an excellent first step toward energy efficiency! What's next for you?

    Bianca Rosa's avatar
    Bianca Rosa 9/30/2021 6:24 AM
LED bulbs give off much less heat than incandescent bulbs and therefore use less energy.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Industry Recycle Everything I Can
How could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle? How does considering implementing these "R's" make you feel?

    Bianca Rosa's avatar
    Bianca Rosa 9/30/2021 6:23 AM
Since we have limited space on earth to dispose all the waste, it is important to use the resources efficiently and create less waste.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Coastal, Ocean, and Engineered Sinks Smart Seafood Choices
Many states and countries have advisories on eating fish. Find out what is advised for your region. Do you think your diet choices fall within these guidelines? What steps do you need to take to make sure that they do?

    Bianca Rosa's avatar
    Bianca Rosa 9/30/2021 6:21 AM
Shop locally for wild-caught American seafood. The United States has some of the best-managed fisheries in the world!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
