Grace Sizemore 11/09/2022 11:20 PMThis has honestly been a lot of fun! -
Grace Sizemore 11/07/2022 11:11 PMHonestly, I have felt so good including more plant based meals that I may just want to switch over to eating plant based foods at least 90% of the time 😱-
Alex Gonzalez 11/08/2022 9:06 AMFunny how mandatory requirements can bring about big changes no? But I suppose that's the point of experiencing something new; good on you.

REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Healing & Renewal Go for a Daily WalkWhat have you noticed on your daily walks? What have you enjoyed? What infrastructure changes could make your walks more enjoyable or possible?
Grace Sizemore 11/07/2022 11:10 PMI have been enjoying the oak moths. Also the last few days have been wetter and mushrooms have been popping up. My walks would be more enjoyable if it were easier to catch a bus to get to other places to walk. I like having diverse choices. -
Grace Sizemore 10/18/2022 5:43 PMHow does one remember to check in every day 😭😭😭 I remember to do the action, but remembering to login is a STRUGGLE. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONIndustry Invite a friend to calculate the carbon footprint of their householdWhat kinds of discussions did you have, or are you hoping to have with friends about climate change?
Grace Sizemore 10/13/2022 7:48 PMWell, my younger brother, who I encouraged to do this, feels very similarly about climate change to how I do, and since I am constantly talking about what I'm learning, is pretty well-informed. However, he lives with his partner's family in a large household of people with different priorities, so I sent him the link to this to help facilitate a conversation about climate change with a different demographic. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONIndustry Calculate the carbon footprint of my householdAfter you determined your carbon footprint, did you see what different choices you can make in order to reduce it?
Grace Sizemore 10/13/2022 7:33 PMYes. For one thing, I saw that having a hybrid vehicle helps, as well as the fact that my household does not fly much. While I don't eat much meat, I could reduce my footprint further by going pescatarian and encouraging my husband to eat less meat. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLand Sinks Research PeatlandsMuch of Indonesia's peatlands have been drained so they could be replaced with palm oil or pulp and paper plantations. How can you make choices that help to protect peatlands, even if you live far away from one?
Grace Sizemore 10/13/2022 7:24 PMI can be mindful of how I am sourcing ingredients and use only recycled paper. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land Use Reduce Animal ProductsWhy do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our bodies, our planet, and other people?
Grace Sizemore 10/12/2022 7:20 PMMeat is expensive, so more people can afford meat in richer countries. Eating more meat raises our cholesterol and eventually causes heart disease. It also increases CO2 and methane emissions and, depending on where and how the animal agriculture is happening, can have social justice implications. -
Grace Sizemore 10/12/2022 6:56 PMHey all! For anyone trying to do a more plant-based diet or trying to incorporate more fruits and veggies, I just wanted to share that forksoverknives.com is a good resource for recipes! All of their recipes are vegan and loaded with plants. They also have blog posts, including about things like reducing food waste and how to use your veggie scraps, so it may be a good resource for that too.
