REFLECTION QUESTIONIndustryWhat are some attributes of an offset that you should consider before purchasing them?
Deanna Tabarus 4/16/2022 8:09 PMIt is important to consider the effects that every product you are purchasing may contribute on the overall health and sustainability of our planet. Attributes like carbon emissions, water consumption, ocean acidification, ozone depletion, etc. all are crucial elements to consider when purchasing a product so keep an eye out for carbon-neutral companies, for example, or other sustainable features can definitely help to combat the pollution and destruction being created as a result. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONIndustryHow can you express your personality, creativity, and values in ways that don't require fast fashion or buying more clothes and accessories?
Deanna Tabarus 4/16/2022 8:02 PMI can express my personality, creativity, etc. in a variety of ways that avoid fast fashion and overconsumption. I tend to buy a majority of my clothes and accessories second-hand as well as make a lot of my own clothes and jewelry. I personally make sure to find other ways to satisfy my needs for change and expression in my wardrobe in hopes of minimizing the affects I may have on the environment. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONIndustryHow could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle? How does considering implementing these "R's" make you feel?
Deanna Tabarus 4/16/2022 7:57 PMAs someone that spends a majority of their time crafting, I incorporate a lot of the other "R"s into my life. I am constantly repurposing my containers, clothes, food waste, etc. to use them for something else I may enjoy more and give the items another life. Considering implementing these "R"s has definitely made me feel eager to do more and I have enjoyed the process so far. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land UseMindful eating is healthier for us than eating with distractions. How does your eating experience differ when practicing mindfulness?
Deanna Tabarus 3/24/2022 8:37 PMMy eating is astronomically different as a result of eating more mindfully. Both by eating better and more intuitively I feel that my mind is much clearer and I am taking what I am putting into my body much more seriously. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land UseHow does eating more fruits and vegetables and less meat positively affect yourself, other people, and our planet?
Deanna Tabarus 3/24/2022 8:34 PMEating plant-based alternatives to meat is beneficial for me, others, and our planet for a number of different reasons. I typically eat two out of three of my meals plant-based, and, by not contributing to the consumption of animal products, I am preventing the lives of the animals being taken as well as the waste being created from the production of the items.
