mainly if it's worth the price.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

Had you heard of the term "silvopasture" before now? After learning more about it, what do you think is the biggest advantage of silvopasture?

    Roan Tolson's avatar
    Roan Tolson 12/10/2020 12:26 PM
I have not heard of the term"silvopasture" before this assignment, and I believe it is an overall better alternative to regular farmland.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Land Sinks Forest-Friendly Foods 1

    Roan Tolson's avatar
    Roan Tolson 12/10/2020 11:41 AM
Eating meat that comes from better enviroments and farmers
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use Learn the Truth About Expiration Dates
How does knowing the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates empower you to make better decisions?

    Roan Tolson's avatar
    Roan Tolson 12/09/2020 9:53 AM
It can instill confidence and oppose expiration dates, trusting information you gained rather than inferenced superstition.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Industry Research the Climate Impact of Refrigerants
What did you learn about the climate impact of refrigerants? How do supermarkets contribute to this impact?

    Roan Tolson's avatar
    Roan Tolson 12/08/2020 2:17 PM
I believe steps are being made to repair damages, but not fast enough.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Electricity Calculate the carbon footprint of my household
After you determined your carbon footprint, did you see what different choices you can make in order to reduce it?

    Roan Tolson's avatar
    Roan Tolson 12/07/2020 11:47 AM
What's dissapointing is that they're mainly asking us to spend money, or "Offset", to balance our carbon footprint. It's likely aimed towards adults, but they provided little explanation as to what they plan on doing. Aside from that, the different choices are the same as any other site, eat less meat, use cars less, and such.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Health and Education Learn about the Need for Family Planning
What did you learn about the need for family planning? How do the needs of different people in different places compare to each other?

    Roan Tolson's avatar
    Roan Tolson 12/04/2020 10:58 AM
Most everyone's experiences are different, but that does not mean that everyone doesn't need the same thing. Those that struggle are disatvantaged and need aid.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Electricity Watch a Video about Methane Digesters
What does your vision of a sustainable community look like? What would need to be changed in order for such vision to become reality?

    Roan Tolson's avatar
    Roan Tolson 12/04/2020 9:22 AM
Go back in time to when we could only live near streams and open plains, we could legitametely equip enough hydropower to run America without drilling into the planet. And that excludes Gas and Wind heating, which can power the planet. Only problem is that there's more people in power who's reluctant to change to renewable energy.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Land Sinks Learn about Temperate Forests
As you learn more about the scope and seriousness of the environmental challenges we face, what impact does that have on your thinking and actions? What are the parts that feel overwhelming? What parts help you feel hopeful?

    Roan Tolson's avatar
    Roan Tolson 11/30/2020 12:40 PM
It's not overwhelming, it's a bit comforting to know the actions that are being taken by people around the world.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Land Sinks Research Peatlands
Much of Indonesia's peatlands have been drained so they could be replaced with palm oil or pulp and paper plantations. How can you make choices that help to protect peatlands, even if you live far away from one?

    Roan Tolson's avatar
    Roan Tolson 11/30/2020 11:56 AM
Support, donate, and spread awareness to organizations that are making efforts that can actually influence and protect peatlands
