REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity Watch a Video about Methane DigestersWhat does your vision of a sustainable community look like? What would need to be changed in order for such vision to become reality?
Holly Van de Vate 3/31/2021 8:02 PMWATCH THE VIDEO i had no idea these digesters were even a thing and honestly i think UT should have one (if we don't already) -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBuildings Learn about 'Green Gentrification'Cities and towns need to plan for climate change. How can your city or town make its climate action plans equitable and socially just?
Holly Van de Vate 3/31/2021 7:56 PMI read about green gentrification and it was really a good read. It brought a lot to my attention. sometimes we think we are doing the right thing but it actually is contributing to the problem -
REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity Calculate the carbon footprint of my householdAfter you determined your carbon footprint, did you see what different choices you can make in order to reduce it?
Holly Van de Vate 3/31/2021 10:46 AMI can drive a whole lot less. Although i carpool, it would be better actually for me and my bf to meet somewhere instead. I can also switch my lightbulbs. or at least try to (i live in an apartment). -
REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity Invite a friend to calculate the carbon footprint of their householdWhat kinds of discussions did you have, or are you hoping to have with friends about climate change?
Holly Van de Vate 3/22/2021 8:45 AMI love talking about household energy savers. Half/full flush toilets, lightbulbs that last longer and are environmentally better, unplugging appliances. I started doing this in the winter because my bill doubled. I ended up saving $20 in one month! Your bill increases in the winter anyway, so I thought this was still really good.
