REFLECTION QUESTIONLand Sinks Learn More about SilvopastureHad you heard of the term "silvopasture" before now? After learning more about it, what do you think is the biggest advantage of silvopasture?
Lisbeth Vigil Argueta 12/08/2020 9:09 AMNo, I have not heard about this before. I think the biggest advantage of silvopasture is that the animals have a variety of food and they are healthy, also that silvopasture sequesters and stores carbon out of the atmosphere. This helps the earth to be more healthy and free of carbon, I mean maybe not at all but it helps. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity Watch a Video about Methane DigestersWhat does your vision of a sustainable community look like? What would need to be changed in order for such vision to become reality?
Lisbeth Vigil Argueta 12/04/2020 9:18 AMI think my vision of a sustainable community is to try or make a change in which we can use more things that could be better not just for us, also for the earth. I guess try to teach people about all the renewable resources that we have and try to implement some in the community. Also use different types of renewable energy like solar, turbines, and others. With these options that we have, we could change our situations of global warming -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth and Education Learn about the Need for Family PlanningWhat did you learn about the need for family planning? How do the needs of different people in different places compare to each other?
Lisbeth Vigil Argueta 12/03/2020 10:18 AMIt is important when you are active in this, to be in control like birth control, because with this you are gonna be a mother when you want to be a mother. You can be more preperaded and give your kids a better future and you will have a better future too. This process is different in the countries, in some there are more education and places where you can go and have things with which one you will be protected to don’t have a children, but at the same time there are countries or towns where all this things didn’t happen. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLand Sinks Learn about Temperate ForestsAs you learn more about the scope and seriousness of the environmental challenges we face, what impact does that have on your thinking and actions? What are the parts that feel overwhelming? What parts help you feel hopeful?
Lisbeth Vigil Argueta 12/02/2020 9:20 AM1- It impacts me because before these lessons I didn’t know that I was causing deforestation on forests. I think If I want this kind of this change I will have to start to change things that I usually do and effects the nature like the biodiversity of the world.
2- I think knowing that our own actions ruin our home. Our actions or the kind of food that we normally eat.
3- The part that makes me feel hopeful is that there are many solutions and if people do it our conditions will change. Some of the forests will still be full of life and beautiful as others are. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLand Sinks Research PeatlandsMuch of Indonesia's peatlands have been drained so they could be replaced with palm oil or pulp and paper plantations. How can you make choices that help to protect peatlands, even if you live far away from one?
Lisbeth Vigil Argueta 12/01/2020 9:30 AMI think I could help selecting food or things that I need for another type of food that doesn't have too many of these kinds of products. Also gettin paper that could be or is recyclable. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth and Education Research Barriers to Participation and RepresentationWhat are some of the barriers that exist to women's equal participation and/or representation in your community?
Lisbeth Vigil Argueta 11/30/2020 9:41 AMMany times people think womens are weak, but womens are NOT weak they are more stronger than you think. Also some mens don’t see the value of a woman or a girl, but they matter. People think that women have to be in their home, not working and not studying. Womens and girls have rights and they can be whatever they want to be and they can help to give solutions for the problems that the world could have.
