How could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle? How does considering implementing these "R's" make you feel?

I think starting at refusing/reducing is the most beneficial!! If you do not use it in the first place or refuse to be apart of the problem, you are helping the future in all ways. You are starting off right instead of trying to fix the problem you contribute to. I think this challenge has made me understand that there is more things you can do besides just recycling. Even to the point of cleaning out the containers before recycling. I learned a lot about how to organize your recycling to get the most benefit out of it which is great to know to influence others.

On Tennessee's Arbor Day, My friend and I went to 2nd creek on campus and participated in planting saplings! We planted 20 trees and everyone who participated collectively planted 200 trees! Even though some of the ones planted wont survive, it is great to try!! It was a good amount of physical work but it made me really happy to know I was helping the environment.

Sometimes cleaning out the containers is time consuming!!

How can you express your personality, creativity, and values in ways that don't require fast fashion or buying more clothes and accessories?

One of my favorite places to shop in Knoxville is Platos closet or Planet Xchange. What I love about these places is that they have so many choices of unique, gently used clothing. They take the time to organize it to the point where it is not overwhelming. For the past couple months these stores have been my source of clothing. They are eco friendly, not expensive, and great quality. They also do not give out plastic bags. I have been trying to avoid places of fast fashion including target, shein, etc. Going to second-hand shops or local businesses are a great way to still get trendy outfits while helping reduce waste and cruel working spaces

My main challenge is learning about recycling and organizing recyclable items. My roommate and I bought 4 trashcans to separate our recyclable items into paper, glass, plastic, and cans. We are going to try to influence our other roommates to be conscious about what they are throwing away and where.
