"hi my name is lexi wright. I love playing sports and doing hikes/ any adventures in the outdoors. i enjoy camping, biking, going to the beach etc. i always have to be doing something active. I do not have a car up here at school, i either walk or take a scooter. however i want to stop using my scooter and walk to places more. along with this, just using more eco friendly bags, water bottles etc. overall i think people overlook the small details such as bringing a hydro flask or using sustainable bags when shopping. i really want to become more aware of doing these actions to help improve this beautiful earth that i love to explore on. lexi wright 2/02/2023 3:19 PMi have been taking colder showers, which makes them shorter because I wont go in for longer. Trying to reduce sink water usage and shower usage-
Kyle Harvey 2/03/2023 5:58 PMHi Lexi!
I too have been trying to take colder showers more frequently. I was the same way where I noticed that it dramatically reduced the duration of my showers as I could barely withstand the cold. But really I think that it has made me more alert and ready for my day when I take them in the mornings. On top of that, my shower in my apartment takes forever to heat up, so the amount of water I would waste just sitting and waiting was ridiculous. Taking colder showers helps address this issue. I also appreciate the article that Cristian sent related to the health benefits that taking cold showers can have. I knew some of these benefits before, however, it taught me some knew things, such as how they can be used to aid people with sleeping disorders. Crazy! Additionally, I will have to take the suggestions that Cristian provided into consideration. I don't think that it is possible for me to change the shower head in my apartment, however, I can conserve water by turning it off in between scrubbing much like how I turn the sink off as I am brushing my teeth. -
CRISTIAN GONZALEZ 2/03/2023 3:14 PMHi Lexi! I think it is awesome that you're able to take cold showers during winter, I personally cannot. In this article " https://www.webmd.com/sleep-disorders/benefits-of-cold-vs-hot-shower" you can learn that there are definitely other health benefits to taking cold showers. I also assume cold water requires less energy since it is not being heated up. Another thing I would consider trying is turning off the water in between scrubs or replacing your shower head with one that reduces water use.

lexi wright 2/02/2023 2:53 PMI have been trying to walk more and do fun hikes, just exploring the spots around me. You definitely see a different perspective when walking versus driving a car or scootering everywhere.-
MEGAN JUNG 2/03/2023 3:03 PMHi Lexi, this is such a beautiful view! It has inspiried me to venture on a hike. I think that hiking or taking a walk can help us realize how lucky we are to have such a beautiful planet that sustains us. Especially after learning about all of the harmful practices we participate in that are destroying our planet, whenever I go for a walk or hike it makes me even more apprecaitive of nature. I think that taking walks can not only help reduce our carbon footprint, but also encourage us to take action and to do our part in trying to mitigate climate change. There is only one planet earth, and we should treat it with respect, otherwise these beautiful views will eventually cease to exist.
