Action Track: Building Resilience
Shower Once/Day
I noticed that most people around me shower twice a day(morning and evening), and some of them even shower multiple times if they work out or just to feel like it during the day. I was wondering if we could possibly reduce the time of unnecessary showing down to once a day. What would this action change us both mentally and physically?
Food, Agriculture, and Land Use
Zero-waste Cooking
Reduced Food Waste
I will cook 1 meal(s) with zero-waste each day
Action Track: Healing & Renewal
Eat Mindfully
I will eat all of my meals without distractions, e.g., phone, computer, TV, or newspaper.
Transportation
Test Drive an Electric Bike
Electric Bicycles
I will test drive an electric bike at a local distributor to see if it makes sense to use one in place of my car, or to extend the area I can cover by bike.

Ivan Zhang 11/07/2022 7:37 PMAnother day of no phone November during meals. I got a lot used to eating without having any destructions now. Hope I can keep this going.-
Mason Brown 11/08/2022 1:53 PMI hope to someday be at that level, it takes a lot of forethought not to eat with a distraction. One day I was eating and saying to myself "wow I'm eating without a distraction" and then two minutes later I realized music counts as eating with a distraction. -
Grace Sizemore 11/07/2022 11:11 PMTbh this is so impressive. I didn’t even try this one because I’m not convinced I have the self control.

Ivan Zhang 11/06/2022 11:01 PMI've done some work this weekend. One of the most amazing things I did this weekend was riding my friend's electric bike to campus. It worked great, but just a little cold on the downside. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Test Drive an Electric BikeHalf of all trips made in the US are three miles or less; 72% of them are driven. Private vehicles account for 60% of trips of a mile or less. Do you often drive short distances instead of biking or walking? If so, how might incorporating an electric bike into your lifestyle help you make more climate-friendly choices?
Ivan Zhang 11/06/2022 10:58 PMFirstly, I don't have a vehicle, so I tested riding my friend's electric bike during the weekend, and it worked amazingly but just a little bit cold on the downside. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood, Agriculture, and Land Use Zero-waste CookingIn North America, up to 65% of food waste happens at the consumer level. Chef Steven Satterfield advocates for utilizing every part of a vegetable. How can you incorporate using an entire vegetable, including the skins, tops, and stalks during your next meal prep?

REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Healing & Renewal Eat MindfullyMindful eating is healthier for us than eating with distractions. How does your eating experience differ when practicing mindfulness?
Ivan Zhang 11/06/2022 10:55 PMI focus more on the food itself now, and it makes me want to eat healthier. -
Ivan Zhang 11/03/2022 4:02 PMEating without watching YouTube videos has been a part of life since forever ago. Now that I tried eating my meals without watching something feels weird but I’m actually enjoying my food now :)
