I have never heard of a silvopasture before and it was very neat to learn about it. I believe the biggest advantage of the silvopasture is how it can counteract methane emissions of livestock.

The main thing that concerns me is the sea levels rising because of global warming. If the sea levels do start rising drastically like they already are then we would need to take action against it instantly but that isn’t happening. 

I learned that refrigerants with CFC are a major cause of ozone depleation. Supermarkets are one of the main consumers of refrigerants. 

My vision of a sustainable community would be a small community that uses manual or electric transit (for longer journeys), has sustainable energy such as methane digesters, and farms the majority of food sustainable themselves. So many things would have to change in this capitalist society to have this become a reality.

I feel helpless, but I know that there's people out there actively working to fix environmental challenges. That makes me feel hopeful. I just try to do whatever I can.

Some human activities that affect the health of water systems include farm fertilizers and pesticides running down into water supplies. In other words, poor farm erosion management. Also, poor sewage management can result in waste (possibly even manure) contaminating the water supply. To improve the health of the water system, I can make sure the mulch the base of my tree stumps. This will increase water infiltration and decrease evaporation. This will decrease erosion of sediment and harmful chemicals.

Currently, what concerns me the most about how we are affecting the planet is the fact that we know all of this new important information, yet much of our population will just consider it to be fake news. This is so frustrating! This is why it is important to make sure that as many people as possible are educated on our current environmental situation. In other words, while I feel that we are making a lot of progress in our understanding of our environment, convincing people to believe it is a whole other challenge.
